From the Desk of Dr. M. Balsera

It is with great honor that I welcome you to Bent Tree Elementary School. Thanks to the hard work of our students, parents, instructional and support staff, Bent Tree Elementary was once again recognized as an “A” school by the Florida Department of Education for the 2008-2009 school year.  Our scores indicate we were among the highest in the District, as our students ranked second in Mathematics and fourth in Science overall scores.  Also, according to Federal guidelines under the No Child Left Behind Act, our school met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in all areas.   

While we are most proud of our educational accomplishments, the staff at Bent Tree Elementary will work diligently to instill in our students a sense of community and service.  Through the many initiatives and programs that are implemented at the school, we know our students will be well prepared to face the future with the skills needed to succeed.   

We encourage all our parents to find the time to get involved in our school.  Our active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is always finding creative ways to organize fun activities for the families at our school.  Parental participation is vital to the success of any school and our staff always looks forward to establishing positive relationships that foster growth in student achievement.  

With your support, we are confident the 2009-2010 school year will be another great success for everyone.
