Dear Parents:

Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am the principal of your children. I am overjoyed to be part of the Bent Tree family. I truly believe that this is the beginning of a wonderful and productive relationship between you, the faculty and staff, the students and the administration of this achieving educational institution.

After 36 years dedicated to educate children of all grade levels, I have learned that as long as there are children, there will be a future. And as long as there is love, there will be children. You, as parents and we, as educators have a mutual obligation to help our students to prepare themselves for a successful tomorrow. It is my belief that for our children to be successful, there must be a positive and strong partnership between home, school and the community.

By this time, it is no secret that Bent Tree Elementary is an "A" school for the fifth consecutive year and that we met the "No Child Left Behind" academic standards. This astonishing achievement can only be accomplished through teamwork, dedication and the commitment of our faculty, staff, parents, and most important, our students.

The 2006-2007 academic year promises to be a challenging year full of new goals to achieve and new roads to travel. Our greatest challenge this coming school year will be to maintain our "A" school grade and continue meeting the individual needs of all of our students. Only by working as a team, can we realize the school’s goals and objectives.

Our school will continue to focus on a rigorous academic program, which sparks the intellectual curiosity of each student and at the same time teaches them to relate the content of the classroom to the world around them. By emphasizing the dynamic combination of skills, knowledge, critical thinking and experience, Bent Tree Elementary faculty will continue promoting academic achievement.

As a Miami-Dade County Public School parent, you are an integral part in the making of America’s future. So, here we stand, and my hand is stretched out to you. Let’s continue nourishing this partnership that will survive throughout your children’s education, a partnership in which everyone wins.

As always I feel honored for the opportunity of serving as the instructional leader of this fine educational institution, Bent Tree Elementary. Together we will continue watching our children grow intellectually; together we will produce citizens with right and responsibilities; together we will motivate our students to become lifelong learners. Together we will be proud parents and accomplished educators.
